Husband Allegedly Kills Wife and Neighbour as Police Launch Manhunt

According to preliminary police reports, the suspect, a 40-year-old Posiano Turyahebwa is alleged to have first killed his wife, Nsimenta, before locking her body inside their house.

Police in Ibanda District have recovered the bodies of two women who were allegedly murdered in the early hours of the morning on Monday in a suspected domestic violence incident that has shocked the local community.

The deceased have been identified as Phionah Nsimenta and Oliver Nalugo, a neighbour and close friend of Nsimenta.

According to preliminary police reports, the suspect, a 40-year-old Posiano Turyahebwa is alleged to have first killed his wife, Nsimenta, before locking her body inside their house. He is then said to have attacked Nalugo, who lived nearby, killing her under circumstances that investigators are still working to establish.

Police officers later recovered the bodies and launched investigations into the killings.

A manhunt has since been initiated for Turyahebwa, who remains at large. Authorities have appealed to members of the public to provide any information that could lead to his arrest.

The incident has left residents of the area in shock, with many calling for justice for the victims as security agencies intensify efforts to track down the suspect.
