A report was made at Bukomero Police Station, prompting a homicide team from Kiboga to visit the scene. Police found Namusoke’s body lying in a pool of blood and recovered an axe with suspected blood stains, which has been taken as an exhibit.

Witnesses have recorded statements, while the body was conveyed to Kiboga Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Police also deployed a canine to assist with the investigation, although its work was reportedly affected after the scene was disturbed by people who had gathered there.

Efforts to trace and arrest Mustafa are ongoing.

SSP Kigozi urged the public to avoid tampering with crime scenes, saying this can compromise evidence and hinder investigations.

He also called on couples facing domestic disputes to seek appropriate help and use peaceful means to resolve conflicts before they escalate into violence.
