In a statement issued on May 4, 2026, the Church clarified that while a minor disruption occurred during a service at St Peter’s Anglican Church, the situation was quickly brought under control and did not result in any harm to the Archbishop.
“The narrative that the Archbishop was attacked is false and misleading,” the statement said. “A brief disturbance was caused by a small group of unidentified individuals, but it was promptly contained, and the service continued without further interruption.”
The Archbishop is currently in the United States on official duties and is proceeding with his scheduled ministry activities.
