At least four people have reportedly died in a tragic road accident at Matanga-Ndikutamadda along the Masaka–Kampala Highway.
The fatal crash occurred overnight when a Mercedes-Benz reportedly collided head-on with a FUSO truck while attempting to overtake another vehicle.
According to preliminary reports, the impact of the collision was severe, killing all four occupants of the Benz on the spot.
The identities of the deceased had not been established by the time of publication.
Police and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to recover the bodies and clear the wreckage, while traffic along the busy highway was temporarily affected.
