Isma Olaxess (Jajja Iculi) Shot Dead-Police

Police have confirmed the killing of Isma Olaxess (Jajja Iculi) by shooting as he was heading to his home at Kyanja on Saturday evening. Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire says the incident happened at around 9:20pm at Kyanja Central Zone.

Owoyesigyire has identified the deceased as Ibrahim Tusubira a.k.a Jajja Iculi. He says that Kira Road Police have swung into action to actively investigate the tragic shooting incident that claimed Iculi’s life.

“The incident took place while Tusubira was traveling in his motor vehicle, registered under number UBK 213 D, with his driver, Waswa Mathias. Preliminary reports indicate that an unidentified gunman armed with an SMG opened fire on the vehicle, resulting in the fatal shooting of Tusubira Ibrahim, who was seated in the passenger seat at the time of the attack. Our dedicated task teams are currently on the ground, working diligently to gather all available evidence and conduct thorough investigations into this heinous crime,” Owoyesigyire said in a Police statement issued a few minutes after the incident.

He added: “As a precautionary measure, the area has been cordoned off to ensure the safety of the public and to facilitate the on-going investigation process. We assure the public that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide answers to this senseless act of violence.

We understand the concerns and anxieties arising from this incident.  We urge residents to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities as we work towards resolving this case swiftly.”

Eyewitnesses said that Isma was shot randomly with over 200 bullets. The driver who allegedly survived the incident without any injury was taken to Kira Road Police to record a statement.

By Press time, Police were at the scene to pick anything which would help in the investigation. It had removed Isma’s body from the car, preparing to take it away to Mulago City Mortuary for post-mortem.

By 1:00am, the Police ambulance turned up to pick up the body of the deceased from the scene of crime.

Isma is reported to have been shot outside his home, a few meters away from the home of the State Minister for Labour, Rtd. Col. Charles Okello Engola who was also shot by his body guard Pte Wilson Sabiiti on Friday.
