The Parish Priest of St. Andrew Kaggwa Kichwa Mpoma Parish, Rev. Fr. Denis Kibirige, has invited parishioners, friends of the parish, and well-wishers to join the community as it marks its fifth Parish Day on June 14, 2026.

According to Fr. Kibirige, this year’s celebrations will be particularly significant as they will coincide with the official launch of the construction of a modern 1,000-seater church, a project expected to transform worship and community activities within the parish.

He called upon members of the public, both Catholics and non-Catholics, to attend the celebrations and support the ambitious project as the parish lays the foundation for its future place of worship.

The priest noted that since the parish was established on February 10, 2021, by the Bishop of Lugazi Diocese, Bishop Christopher Kakooza, it has registered remarkable growth and achievements. These include the baptism of hundreds of children, the celebration of numerous marriages, and the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation to hundreds of Christians. Among the parish’s notable achievements is producing a priest, Fr. Ronald Ishanga who was ordained in 2023.

He expressed optimism that, with the continued support of the faithful and well-wishers, the church project could be completed within the next ten years and be ready for commissioning.

During his visit to the parish on Sunday, the Kabaka’s chief for Mituba IV Kauga Sub-county, Eng. Isaac Newton Musoke, commended Fr. Kibirige for transforming the parish headquarters.
