President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has paid tribute to his son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on his 52nd birthday, praising his contributions to Uganda’s military and the country’s broader resistance legacy.
In a message addressed to Ugandans, Africans, and the “Bazzukulu,” through his X handle, Museveni expressed gratitude to God for his family and acknowledged the role of his wife in raising their children during the years of armed struggle between 1981 and 1986. He also commended his children for their achievements in education, careers, and family life.
Focusing on Gen. Muhoozi, the President noted that his son was born and raised during Uganda’s resistance period and has continued to contribute to its ideals. He credited him with playing a significant role in combating corruption within the Uganda People’s Defence Force and enhancing its operational effectiveness.
Museveni also thanked Ugandans and supporters across Africa for backing his family and political movement over the years, emphasizing the shared efforts in national development.
