Police in Kyenjojo District have arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnap and murder of a seven-year-old boy whose body was discovered days after he went missing from his village.
The victim, identified as Turinayo Osbert, disappeared on the night of June 12, 2026, after leaving home with his brothers to watch a film at a nearby video hall in Isoroma Village, Kitongore Parish, Kisojo sub-county.
According to Police, the child failed to return home at around 9 p.m., prompting family members and residents to launch an immediate search, but their efforts proved unsuccessful.

On June 15, the family reportedly received a phone call from an unknown person demanding a ransom of sh1.5m in exchange for the child’s release, while threatening to kill him.
Police investigations and tracking efforts led to the arrest of two suspects, identified as Manyindo Isaiah, also known as Bala, 26, and Twijukye Elias, 17.
During interrogation, investigators say the suspects led them to a location where the victim’s lifeless body had been concealed beneath tree leaves.
The body was recovered and transported to Kyenjojo General Hospital for a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
Police have since cautioned parents and guardians against leaving young children unsupervised in trading centres, bars and video halls, especially during late hours.
In a statement, Police spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke said allowing a seven-year-old child to remain in a video hall at 9 p.m. exposed him to unnecessary danger.
“Children require close supervision to safeguard their wellbeing and prevent avoidable incidents,” Rusoke said.
Police said inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping and murder are ongoing.
