
Three people have been confirmed dead and two others injured following a fatal road crash in Kabwohe, Sheema District.
The crash involved a truck loaded with palm oil, which overturned and came to rest on a Toyota Premio, according to preliminary information from Traffic Police. The accident is said to have occured on Tuesday night.
The Premio is believed to have had additional occupants, with some victims suspected to be trapped inside the vehicle.
Police and other emergency responders were at the scene as efforts continued to remove the truck using an excavator to gain access to the Premio and establish whether there are more casualties.

Traffic Police Spokesperson, Micheal Kananura said more details would be provided after the recovery operation and a full assessment of the crash scene.
The identities of the deceased and injured victims, as well as the circumstances surrounding the crash, had not yet been established by the time of the report.
