Housemaid Arrested Over Alleged Defilement of 5-Year-Old Boy in Kampala

Investigators say efforts are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged offence before the matter is forwarded for prosecution.

Police in Kabalagala are holding a 19-year-old housemaid in connection with the alleged aggravated defilement of a five-year-old boy in Makindye Division, Kampala.

The suspect, identified as Zaina Mary, was arrested following an incident that reportedly occurred on June 6, 2026, at around 10:00 a.m. in Kimbugwe Zone, Kibuli Parish.

According to preliminary police findings, the suspect was allegedly found committing acts amounting to aggravated defilement involving the minor, who was under her care at the time. Both the suspect and the victim are residents of the same area.

Police say the matter was reported and investigations were immediately launched. The suspect is currently being held at Kabalagala Police Station as inquiries into the incident continue.
