Police in Mukono have launched investigations into a case of aggravated theft after fraudsters allegedly posed as television repair technicians and made off with cash and valuables worth millions of shillings.
The incident was reported on 1 July 2026 at Upper Nabuti Cell, Central Division, Mukono Municipality.
According to preliminary police findings, the suspects used deception to gain access to the victim’s home by convincing the housemaid that they had been sent by the homeowner to collect a faulty television set for repairs.
After being allowed into the residence, the suspects allegedly stole three television sets, sh10m in cash, a CCTV digital video recorder (DVR), a mobile phone, and a metallic safe containing a pistol.

Police say the stolen items were loaded into a white Toyota Noah, which the suspects used to flee the scene.
Officers visited and documented the crime scene, and investigations are underway to establish the identities of the suspects and bring them to justice.
